Wanted: New plays!
The 2019 Koestler Awards are now open for submissions, including new Stage plays written by Prisoners and ex-prisoners.
Synergy are delighted to partner with The Koestler Trust for the second year running and will be supporting the Stage Play category with courses and workshops in prisons between January and April. Last year’s winners had extracts from their plays performed in special performances at HMP Whatton and The Royal Court Theatre.
Writers can apply using the entry form which must be signed by a member of prison or probation staff. Guidelines for the stageplay category can be found here and full guidelines here.
The deadline for submissions is 4th April 2019.
