Synergy Studio: Filmmaking course
Making a short film with Synergy Studio
Following on from the screenplay writing course that took place summer 2015, Synergy Studio is lifting scripts from the page and bringing them to life on camera.
Led by Justin Allder, this 12-week training programme introduces participants to the fundamentals in the art of filmmaking, including how to think as a director, analyse a script and breakdown a character.
It also covers:
- Breaking down the script
- Visual storytelling
- Creating storyboards
- Casting
- Working with technical equipment
- The rules of composition
- Preparing shot-lists
- Schedule the shoot
- Blocking actors
- Shooting a scene
- Editing
We have a guest tutor, Patrick Tucker (of Casualty, Brookside, Angels) leading a class on The Director’s role in Filmmaking.
Following an intensive three-week shoot and editing period, the course will culminate in a cinema screening of the finished films. Stay tuned…
