Introduction to Acting Workshop

A free half-term workshop in Harrow

Over the Easter holidays, we ran a free Introduction to Acting course for young people aged 13–17 at Victoria Hall in Harrow.

Across three days, the group came together to try something new. Some had never acted before. Others were already curious about theatre. All they needed was encouragement and a willingness to give it a go.

Led by our Learning and Engagement team Shane and Valentine, the sessions explored the basics of acting – building confidence, working as a group, and learning techniques used by professional actors.

The week ended with a short performance for an invited audience, giving everyone the chance to share what they’d made.

‘I love Synergy and want to be in everything’ Participant

For us, it’s not just about performance. It’s about creating a space where young people feel comfortable, supported, and able to express themselves.

‘This felt like a safe place for the kids to be’ Parent

The course was completely free, with food provided and travel expenses covered, so that as many young people as possible could take part.

A big thank you to Victoria Hall in Harrow for hosting us, and to everyone who joined us.
