Synergy Theatre Project, Participants

Participants
Project participants, both prisoners and ex-prisoners, represent some of the most economically and socially disadvantaged groups, many of whom are under-represented in arts activity.
Performing in high quality productions to audiences including family members, friends and the public can have a positive impact on participants' self-esteem and family relationships. This, in turn, can affect their behaviour and potentially influence future decisions.
A number of Synergy's projects bring together ex-prisoners at different stages of their resettlement and the evolving network of those attempting to rebuild their lives provides mutual support and can help to strengthen the resolve not to re-offend.
"I gained self-confidence, self-esteem - a beautiful experience."
