Synergy Theatre Project, The Rains of Fear

The Rains of Fear
The Rains of Fear, the winning script from Write Now, was written by Irish traveller Damo Joe Harmon. It was developed into a short film in partnership with The Rod Hall Agency, representatives of the 2006 Best Short Film Oscar Winner. A compelling story of a traveller who bets his caravan on a fight, the film provides a chilling insight into violence and its consequences.
Damo was released just after Christmas 2006, making him available for preparations and the week’s filming. His input was invaluable, particularly in terms of gathering a number of fellow travellers for the bare knuckle fight shoot. The film involved professionals and a number of ex-prisoners in smaller roles.
A private screening took place at the National Film Theatre in May 2007. The Rains of Fear is currently being entered into a number of short film festivals worldwide and is due to be screened at LA Shorts Fest on 9 September.
