Same Sh*t, Different Day (2005)
Set in a prison with flashbacks to various events, Same Sh*t Different Day examines anti-social behaviour and how petty crime can escalate to far more serious situations. The play was devised by the cast, with one of the prisoners taking the lead in scripting the play.
The cast and crew included seven prisoners from HMP Latchmere House and one ex-prisoner. The production was followed by a powerful testimony from a lifer about the events that led him to prison, aged 17, and the experiences during his eleven-year imprisonment.
The production was performed at the Richmond Police Annual Youth Crime Conference for school children in the borough.
"I loved the play and the fact that the prisoners spoke to us honestly afterwards, it made it more real."
