Education

Productions exploring issues relating to crime, anti-social behaviour and citizenship, including knife crime and gang culture tour to theatre venues, schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and Youth Offending Teams (YOTs) with accompanying post-show discussions and participatory drama workshops. The company comprises professional theatre practitioners and ex-prisoners, whose experience helps deglamorise offending behaviour through their honest portrayal of the negative effects of crime.

Projects and workshops are delivered by experienced professional theatre practitioners alongside ex-prisoners who are trained by Synergy to facilitate drama and writing workshops. These can be linked to company productions or can stand alone and are delivered throughout the year in schools, youth groups, PRUs, YOTs and YOIs.

Synergy works in partnership with a wide range of organisations including schools, colleges, the Metropolitan Police, Safer Schools Partnerships, Community Safety Teams and Youth Offending Teams.

"I cannot overstate the importance of this message being delivered by individuals such as these, who have first hand experience, as they clearly have the credibility to back it up."
