The Long Road

The Long Road by Olivier Award-winning playwright Shelagh Stephenson was Synergy’s first professional commission in collaboration with The Forgiveness Project. The play explores restorative justice through the story of a mother’s determination to understand her son’s fatal stabbing which brings her face to face with his killer and almost destroys her family in the process.

The cast comprised entirely of professional actors and the play toured to London prisons and had a sell-out run at Soho Theatre in May 2008. Due to the success of the production the play was revived in November, once again to full houses. Trained ex-offenders delivered workshops in schools to accompany the production.

A production of The Long Road, presented by Leicester Theatre Trust, will be playing at Curve from 12-27 March 2010. For more information, call 116 242 3595 or visit: curveonline.co.uk
